Glam Squad Hair & Beauty Festival

When we first introduced our Aria Ring light this year, we already had an idea of the type of clients that would be interested in this product at first hand. The main one being salons.

SALON’S HAVE USED RING LIGHT’S FOR MANY YEARS, CAPTURING FLAWLESS PICTURES OF THEIR CLIENTS HAIR AND MAKE-UP. THE IMAGES CAPTURED HAVE TO BE MANUALLY UPLOADED TO THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS IN ORDER TO BE SHARED. Many salons also use flower walls or branded back drops in the background of their pictures. We saw this as an opportunity to introduce our Aria Ring light booth to salons and potential hair and beauty events and brands. One of the clients we approached was the ‘Glam Squad Hair & Beauty Festival’.

Glam Squad is the brainchild of three of Scotland’s most innovative hair and beauty entrepreneurs; Fallon Carberry, founder of multi-award winning hair salon, Blow Colourbar and Sarah Jane Murphy and Jane Macmillan co-founders of the Oynx Make Up brand.

Their vision is to create a celebration of both industries and bring together some of the most "respected and inspirational global talent" to Scotland.

This was a no-brainer for us and after showcasing our products to the team we began to visualise the “selfie area” that we wanted to create for the festival.  

The team wanted something eye catching and exciting as well as what we were offering, a digital photo booth station that would allow visitors to share their branded content via the booths,  creating a social buzz around the event and getting more publicity via social media through the amount of people that share the branded GIFs, Boomerangs and still images.

Finally, we designed a branded wrap for our Aria ring light and our 360 booth which was an extra digital activation that we thought the festival would benefit from. The event was held in SWG3 in Glasgow in August 2019 and had promised to have a star-studded line-up of industry experts and brands showcasing their products.

From the queues that were forming throughout the day and the excitement of being able to share the branded content directly to their social media, visitors of the festival were intrigued and excited by the digital activations that we had set up on the day. lexis Stone, Reuben De Maid and Carl Bembridge (celebrity hair stylist) were among some of the stars that used our stations to share content on their Social media which created the “social buzz” and brand awareness that we were hoping to create.
