No Bucky, No Party: Buckfast’s Scotland A.I. Photo Booth Activation
We were thrilled to partner with Glasgow-based marketing agency Atomic10 to deliver a bespoke A.I. Photo Booth activation for Buckfast Tonic Wine at Dockyard Social in Glasgow — timed to coincide with each of Scotland’s matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Brief
Our involvement came about through a LinkedIn recommendation. Atomic10’s Managing Director had posted on LinkedIn looking for recommendations on a local experiential agency for an upcoming project. Glasgow-based agency GRA left a recommendation in the comments, suggesting Atomic10 get in touch with us — and after being tagged in the post, we reached out, arranged introductions, and invited the team to visit our Experiential Playground showroom.
It was during those initial conversations that the client was revealed to be Buckfast Tonic Wine. The original brief was refreshingly straightforward: a photo booth activation, hosted at Dockyard Social in Glasgow’s West End on each date Scotland played a match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The activation had three core objectives:
Brand awareness and visibility for Buckfast
Fan and audience engagement
Social media reach — creating shareable user-generated content with a view to growing Buckfast’s Instagram following
Both the Atomic10 team and their client visited our showroom to get hands-on with our range of photo booths. Once the brief was agreed, it didn’t take long for it to evolve into something far more exciting.
The Solution
After the showroom visit, the activation quickly evolved from a standard photo booth into a bespoke A.I. Photo Booth experience, powered by our Generative AI software.
The core concept was simple but perfectly suited to the occasion: Scotland fans stepping up to the booth could choose from three distinct A.I. experiences, each transforming them into a professional footballer at Hampden Park — Scotland’s national stadium — wearing a different jersey, each with its own bespoke line of graffiti-style copy:
Home jersey — “No Scotland. No Party”
Away jersey — “Yes sir, I can boogie”
Buckfast-inspired jersey — “No Bucky. No Party”
Midway through the campaign, we spotted an opportunity to add a fourth A.I. experience — and it turned out to be one of the most popular. The Tartan Army’s antics in Boston had become a viral story, with fans placing traffic cones on the heads of statues in a nod to Glasgow’s beloved Duke of Wellington monument. We suggested a reactive creative response to the client: a new option that transported fans to an outdoor Scotland fan zone, wearing the home jersey, with a small saltire painted on their cheek and — naturally — a traffic cone on their head. The tagline? “No Scotland. No Party.” It was a real-time creative decision, and one that showed exactly how experiential activations can flex and respond to the cultural moment.
The User Journey
The activation was designed to run entirely unstaffed, thanks to its intuitive UX. Fans would approach the booth, follow the on-screen instructions, and select their preferred A.I. experience on the integrated touchscreen. After completing a short data capture form and image usage disclaimer, their photo was taken. They then chose to receive their finished image via text or email — and within around a minute, the fully rendered A.I. image was delivered to them, ready to share on social media or save directly to their device.
Production and Build
Alongside the A.I. software, our team designed and produced a custom vinyl wrap for the exterior of the booth using Buckfast’s brand assets. Once approved by the client, our production team printed and applied the wrap in-house. We also produced a branded pop-up banner to help draw attention to the activation at each event. Buckfast branding was built into every image captured by the booth, ensuring that every piece of content shared online carried the brand front and centre.
To support Buckfast post-event, we built bespoke branded analytics dashboards providing a clear view of the activation’s KPIs, and created online content folders giving the client direct access to every image captured throughout the campaign.

The Results
The activation resonated strongly with Scotland fans across each event date, generating a significant volume of shareable content and delivering solid results against all key objectives.
At A Glance:
Over 200 booth interactions
In excess of 12,000 total campaign reach
Over 40,000 total impressions generated
Every image captured carried Buckfast branding, generating over 320 views of branded content across the campaign — putting the brand directly in front of an engaged, Scotland-supporting audience. Demographic data showed a near-even gender split among users, with the 25–35 age group the most engaged, accounting for more than half of all sessions. The four A.I. experience options gave fans genuine variety and helped keep the activation fresh across multiple event dates.
All key objectives were met. Brand awareness was delivered through a highly visual, shareable activation, with Buckfast branding featured on every image created. Fan engagement was strong throughout, and the volume of user-generated content produced gave Buckfast real potential to grow its social media presence and Instagram following.
