Summer of Sport 2026: How Brands Can Make the Most of a Landmark Year

Scotland is at the centre of one of the most significant sporting summers in a generation. The Commonwealth Games are returning to Glasgow in 2026, bringing with them a global spotlight, enormous footfall, and an audience that spans locals, visitors, and international broadcasters. Add to that a FIFA World Cup, Wimbledon, The Open, and the European Athletics Championships, and you have a summer that offers Scottish brands, venues, and event organisers a genuinely rare window to connect with fans in meaningful, measurable ways.

The Commonwealth Games alone will draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to Glasgow over its duration. Beyond the venues, that means fan zones, hospitality spaces, bars, shopping centres, and public areas across the city will be full of people who are engaged, celebratory, and looking for experiences to be part of. That's the environment where well-executed brand activations do their best work.

We've put together a dedicated Summer of Sport brochure that covers a range of activation concepts designed specifically for this kind of environment, from large-scale fan zones to smaller sponsor activations, pop-ups, and retail settings. Here's a taste of what's inside.

Scotland at the Heart of the Action

As a Scotland-based experiential agency with a track record of delivering fan experience activations, digital activations, and bespoke builds for clients across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and beyond, we're well placed to help Scottish brands and venues capitalise on what's coming.

We've worked with the Scottish FA, Rangers FC, Celtic FC, and the Scottish Women's Premier League, among many others, so fan activations in a Scottish context aren't new territory for us. This summer, we're ready to help brands of all sizes, from local independents through to national sponsors, create experiences that fans genuinely want to engage with.

A Taste of What's in the Brochure

AI Photo Booth: Put Fans in the Spotlight

Our AI Booth uses generative AI and advanced face-swap technology to place fans inside iconic sporting moments. Imagine supporters in a Glasgow fan zone seeing themselves walk out at the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, or stepping onto the Centre Court at Wimbledon. The outputs are instant, branded, and built for social sharing.

For Scottish brands and Commonwealth Games sponsors in particular, this is a powerful way to create a flood of user-generated content with your branding baked in, spreading your message far beyond the physical footprint of your activation. Data capture is seamlessly built into the user journey throughout.

Lockbox: Reward-Led Engagement That Keeps Fans Coming Back

Lockbox gives fans the chance to unlock instant prizes, from signed merchandise and exclusive brand giveaways through to premium tickets and hospitality upgrades. It's simple, competitive, and genuinely addictive — the repeat-attempt mechanic is one of the most reliable tools we have for increasing dwell time in fan zones, retail spaces, and sponsored areas.

Lockbox drives repeat engagement and on-site dwell time

The activation is built around a fully branded landing page, accessible via QR code, so it works as effectively as a digital activation as it does in a physical environment. We've deployed Lockbox across a wide variety of settings in Scotland and further afield, including at a British Airways activation at the UK Government's Great Futures event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where it generated just under 200 entries over two days and helped the brand meet every one of its campaign objectives. It's a proven concept that scales well regardless of venue size or event type.

360 Experience: Cinematic Fan Moments

Our 360 booth is a consistently popular activation at fan events across Scotland, and for this summer we've developed it further with AI-powered green screen technology. Fans step onto the platform, the rotating camera captures them from every angle, and within seconds they have a fully branded, shareable video placing them in the heart of the action, whether that's a Commonwealth Games athletics track, the centre circle of a World Cup stadium, or the fairways of The Open.

The platform holds up to four people, making it naturally social and great for driving dwell time and organic queuing. Alongside the fan-facing experience, sponsors and organisers receive full post-event analytics covering impressions, reach, shares, and engagement.

React: Gamification That Sparks Competition

React is a fast-paced mobile game where fans test their reactions by catching falling on-screen objects, which can be footballs, tennis balls, athletics medals, Commonwealth Games imagery, or fully bespoke branded graphics. It's quick to pick up, immediately competitive, and generates genuine energy in any fan zone setting.

With optional leaderboard mechanics and prize-based incentives, React drives repeat engagement and supports data capture through sign-ups. It's also one of our quickest activations to deploy, making it a flexible addition to a broader activation plan or an effective standalone experience in its own right.

Social Mosaic: A Shared Story for Your Venue

For venues and fan hubs hosting large numbers of supporters over an extended period, Social Mosaic is a brilliant centrepiece. Fans submit photos through photo booths, roaming iPads, or their own smartphones. Each image becomes a branded tile, mapped to a precise position on a large-scale mosaic that builds throughout the day to reveal a pre-designed image — a sporting hero, a stadium, or your brand's own artwork.

It's visually striking, interactive, and becomes more compelling as it fills up, drawing fans back throughout the day to find their tile and check the progress of the final image. For a venue showing Commonwealth Games fixtures or World Cup matches over multiple days, it creates a genuine sense of shared experience and community.

Holobox, Green Screen, 3D Photography, and More

The brochure also covers several other concepts we're deploying this summer. Our Holobox holographic display can showcase athlete content, sponsor messaging, and behind-the-scenes footage in a way that genuinely stops people in their tracks, making it a strong choice for sponsor suites, concourses, and high-footfall retail environments. Our AI-powered green screen experience lets fans create personalised content without any physical backdrop, making it suitable for even the smallest available footprint. And our 3D Photography rig, using nine synchronised cameras to produce a multi-angle "bullet time" effect, delivers futuristic, shareable clips that fans genuinely want to keep and post.

Every one of these activations is designed around the same core principles: engaging experiences that fans choose to participate in, branded content that travels beyond the event, and measurable ROI for sponsors and organisers.

Delivering on the Objectives That Matter

Creative ideas are only worth pursuing if they deliver commercially, and all of the concepts in our Summer of Sport brochure are built with your campaign objectives in mind from the outset. Whether your priority is data capture, increased brand awareness, driving footfall, extending dwell time, or generating organic social reach, our team designs and configures each activation to perform against those specific goals.

Every activation includes post-event reporting and ROI tracking

Every activation also comes with the option for comprehensive post-event reporting, covering impressions, reach, share rates, dwell time, demographic breakdowns, and peak activity periods, so you have a clear and honest picture of what your activity achieved.

We Go Where the Brief Takes Us

Our team is based in Scotland, but our work takes us the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland regularly, with activations delivered in cities including London, Manchester, and Newcastle. For the right brief, we travel further still — we've delivered campaigns internationally, including activations in Saudi Arabia and Portugal for British Airways — so wherever this summer's sporting moments take you, we're set up to help.
