BAFTA Scotland Awards 2022

The Brief

After a two-year hiatus, the Scottish BAFTA’s were back with a bang at the weekend, with a host of stars from TV and film in attendance at Glasgow’s Doubletree by Hilton, to celebrate the very best of Scotland’s acting talent.

Having delivered activations for the event in previous years, the organisers approached us to once again provide some of our photo booth solutions to help provide guests with an array of fun, engaging photo opportunities.

In addition to providing fun and engaging photo opportunities, other elements of the brief included the ability for guests to be able to print out their photos there and then, as well as being able to share them via the likes of social media, and also to use the activations as a means to help promote the refreshed BAFTA Scotland branding.

The Solution

With the brief being so specific (which is a dream for us), it was quite obvious how to achieve the objectives set out in the brief.

We deployed two booth solutions – our popular 360 booth and our amazing ‘Summit’ photo booth and printer. Both these solutions provide a great canvas on which we were able to show off the new BAFTA Scotland branding – on the 360 platform, the 360 control/sharing tower, as well as completely wrap the ‘Summit’ and printer in BAFTA Scotland branding. Both solutions looked amazing.

Guests who interacted with the ‘Summit’ booth posed for three photos, all of which were instantly printed onto a photo strip with BAFTA Scotland branding at the bottom. This was a great way to give guests something tangible to take home with them, while also increase the brand reach. That’s not all though, for this activation our team also created a custom backdrop, which comprised of black draping and multiple ‘floating’ BAFTA masks, which gave even the background of all images a premium, on-brand feel.

While the ‘Summit’ was delighting those who were posing in front of it, our 360 booth was a hit with guests too. Given the size of the activation, it always seems to organically draw crowds towards it, and this event was no different; and every single person who stepped onto the platform had a blast.

Groups of all sizes took turns to pose on the branded platform and ‘vogue’ for the camera, with those lucky enough to have won in their category getting their award in on the action too, which made for great content.

The final video outputs from the 360 booth were complete with the organisation’s branding, which, again, helped increase the reach of BAFTA Scotland, with every share, whether via email or text message.

The Results

The activations we delivered for the awards ceremony were well received by guests and organisers alike. There was a hive of activation at both booths, with a steady stream of guests, nominees, and winners all queuing up for their shot in front of the camera.

Overall, our booths captured in excess of 300 images and videos, which, when you consider each output was fully branded, is a great outcome for the brand awareness piece of the brief.

More qualitative though, all those who engaged with the activations loved the experience they had, with some guests having multiple shots with each of them.
