AR sELFie Experience - The Centre Livingston

The Brief

The Centre Livingston approached us to provide an augmented reality experience as part of its Elf Toddle Walk event, taking place within the centre.

The idea behind the activation was to provide shoppers with an interactive experience, which would give shoppers an opportunity to have their photo taken with one of Santa’s elf, which could be printed instantly for shoppers to take home with them.

The Solution

The solution for this brief was a really simple one. We deployed our AR photo booth, which satisfied every element of the brief. In terms of the content, we deployed our Christmas experience, which sees a friendly elf walk onscreen to pose for a photo with users, before then walking back offscreen. We also customised the UI (user interface) to ensure it was aligned with the centre’s brand guidelines – colours, branding etc.

We also deployed our portable printing station, which facilitated the instant print element of the brief. This though, wasn’t the only sharing option available to shoppers, they could also, if the wished, choose to share their sELFie via SMS text message or via email, which gave shoppers total flexibility in how they wanted to keep they moment with our friendly elf.

The Results

This activation resulted in a high volume of images being captured through the AR photo booth, meaning increased brand presence and reach for The Centre Livingston. In total over 140 sELFies were captured through the activation, resulting in around 15 photos being captured every hour the activation was live.

Stats aside though, the experience also served as a focal point to which shoppers were drawn, and intrigued by. It created a talking point within the centre and brought joy to many shoppers – adults and children alike – helping to both enhance the Elf Toddle Walk, as well as get shoppers in the festive spirit.
